The Knicks needed to get off to a fast start against the Wizards, more specifically Raymond Felton needed to ingnite the team, and he did. The Knicks took advantage of the Wizards 9 first quarter turnovers to take a 33-26 lead after one.
The Knicks handled the Wizards just as they were supposed to, but the game was much closer then it should have been. The Knicks missed six of their first 7 free throw attempts to start the 4th, and they could have sealed the game up if they hit those.
It definitely felt good to not give the Wizards their first road victory of the season. The Wizards now stand at 0-21 on the road.
Bottom line is the Knicks snapped a 6-game losing streak and got a much-needed home win before Miami comes to town, apparently without Chris Bosh on Thursday.
Stoudemire finished with 30 and 9. Felton finished with 17 and 15 and Chandler added 25 points leading the Knicks to 11-9 at MSG.
