On Friday the Knicks are set to play the Sixers in Philadelphia in the first game of a home-and-home. Both of these games seem like games that the Knicks should win, as they have a 25-23 record compared to the Sixers who are slightly worse at 22-26.
The Knicks come into tonight’s game ice cold, they are just 3-7 in their last 10 games, whereas the 76ers are 7-3. The 76ers are on fire, they are playing much better basketball then the last time the Knicks played them. In the beginning of the season the 76ers beat the Knicks 106-96 on the back of their combo guard Lou Williams.
Philadelphia has the talent available to dismantle the Knicks and the Knicks cannot afford for that to happen.
Heading into the night the Knicks are three games ahead of the 76ers, but could very easily end up only one game ahead if they lose both games.
If the Knicks can manage to play decent defense, take care of the ball, and (for god’s sake) STAY ON THEIR FEET against Williams and the other athletic 76ers’ players, they should be able to come up with an important win.
The Sixers are just one spot behind NY in the conference standings, and if Philadelphia should manage to sweep these next two games vs. the Knicks, they would be just one lonely game behind the Knicks in the standings.
Lets face it. If the Knicks manage to lose the next two games they would lose all momentum and the 76ers would be confident in taking the Knicks playoff spot.
If they can sweep the next two games, the Knicks would prove they are for real. They would show they want to be in the playoffs and deserve to be a high seed in the playoffs.
The New York Knicks need this victory and I expect them to come out and get it.
