Carmelo Anthony made a 16-foot jumped with less than a second left to give the Knicks the win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
The Knicks were able to withstand a late game rally and hold on to beat the Grizzlies 110-108.
The Knicks came out firing just as they had against the Jazz. They were 10 for their first 11 and had 22 points midway through the first.
They put on another offensive clinic during the first 3 quarters, but struggled from the field in the 4th.
This was a huge win because not only did the Pacers lose, the Bobcats lost, and the 76ers lost. The Knicks now have a game and a half cushion between them and the 76ers, and are only two and half game behind the Hawks for the 6 seed.
The next few weeks should be crazy as the playoff bracket begins to lock into place. The Knicks are poised to make a run and challenge the Hawks for the 5 seed, but they also need to watch they back to make sure the 76ers do not pass them.
Carmelo Anthony finished the game with 31 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Amare Stoudemire had 26 points and 6 rebounds.
Toney Douglas had 18 points and TEN assists. Yes, he did a good job filling in for Billups.
Roger Mason had 10 points in 21 minutes. It is very nice to see him work his way back into the rotation.
Overall, a FANTASTIC victory!
The Knicks are right back at it tomorrow in Dallas.
