Mike Bibby Has Signed With The Knicks
Today, Mike Bibby was officially signed to a one-year deal, valued at the veteran’s minimum of $1.4 million by the New York Knicks.
The deal was not met with great optimism nor celebration from Knicks fans; actually, quite the contrary. Many fans, myself included, believe Mike Bibby is too old to be playing at the NBA level. His legs are shot. He can’t even keep up with Eddy Curry. But, luckily, he can still shoot.
My favorite quote surrounding this deal comes from David Falk, Bibby’s agent, who, supposedly, has been trying to get Mike Bibby to play under D’Antoni for a number of years: “I’ve always felt Mike [Bibby] would flourish in his offense.”
Yeah, he might have… six years ago.
I thought, instead of just ending the post here, it would be fun to take a look at a number of reactions on Twitter right after the deal was reported.

@TheKnicksWall if this was ’02 I’d be doing cartwheels – but Bibby now can still provide to the Knicks. Vet PG with playoff experience.

@TheKnicksWall D’Antoni doesn’t play guys who stink, so I assume by mid-January he won’t be seeing the court anymore so I don’t really care.

@TheKnicksWall my reaction is – I hope we get JJ Barea too!
