Tonight at 7:30, the New York Knicks will face-off against the New Jersey Nets at Madison Square Garden.
This game will be the finale to a shortened preseason, in which the Knicks and Nets will have played twice.
In game one, we saw Stoudemire, ‘Melo and Chandler play together for the first time. Albeit, it was only a preview, but it looks like good times are ahead. Tyson set screens that Knicks fans have not seen in quite some time, ‘Melo had 17 points in only 22 minutes of play, and Amare chipped in 10.
Iman Shumpert impressed from the start. He finished the game with 16 points in 26 minutes. After the game, he had some excited fans asking if he was destined to start. How much longer will Toney be starting over him?
In game one, Douglas played 30 minutes, but only managed to score five-points, but he did dish out five assists and grab six-rebounds. His shooting was off, and Douglas does not look comfortable handling the ball, but he did manage to find teammates. Tonight’s game will be a big game for Douglas, because it will be his final opportunity to show D’Antoni what he can do as a starter, before the season begins.
Also, last game, Renaldo Balkman exploded for 20 points, off the bench. It will be interesting to see how he rebounds tonight, and if he can become a valuable role player for the Knicks this season.
I’m excited to watch the Knicks back in action, let’s hope they can come away with some certainty from Douglas, as well as a victory!
