Tonight, the Knicks’ second and third unit defeated the lowly Bobcats by 20, 104-84. With the win, the Knicks confirmed reservations for a first-round matchup with the Miami Heat.
The first game will be on Saturday, at 3:30, and can be seen on ABC.
Somehow, Mike Bibby played 37 minutes, during which he racked up 12 assists and three points; Josh Harrellson and Jerome Jordan both had career nights: 18 and 9 for Jorts, 13 and 4 for Jordan; JR Smith played 36 minutes and scored a game-high 22 points, on 10-16 shooting. Smith seemed to hurt his knee, as he hobbled off the court, but later re-entered the game to prove he was okay.
Amare Stoudemire was the only one of the big three to play tonight, since he requested to, and in 24 minutes, STAT racked up 21 points, on 9-15 shooting, and 3 rebounds. He looked like a man among boys tonight – as he should.
That’s about all that happened in tonight’s game. Believe it or not, the Knicks – Bobcats game was the closest game in the NBA for nearly three-quarters.
Knicks are back in action in less than 48 hours. Get ready Miami, the New York Knicks are coming for you!
