New photos have emerged showing off the Chase Bridge — the brand new addition to the Madison Square Garden transformation project. Resting just below the rafters, the Chase Bridge will consist of two glass-walled seating “bridges” that seat up to 430 spectators. The main seating bridge — the north bridge — will hold 355 seats, while the south bridge will have 75, which will include media space. Behind the seats, a walkway will be open to the rest of the fans that can hold upwards of 900 people.
According to architect Murray Beynon, the bridges are meant to resemble the suspension bridges that connect Manhattan with the rest of the boroughs, which is a pretty cool tribute to the city.
The completion of the Chase Bridge caps off a three-year long, billion-dollar renovation that added wider concourses and more suites in the arena. Below is a GIF showcasing the Sky Bridge and the effect it has on the arena.
