Seeing how Bulls, Rockets and Mavs are all engaged with other free agents sure suggests they buy premise Melo is down to Knicks and Lakers

ESPN’s Marc Stein is reporting that the Carmelo sweepstakes is down to two contestants: The New York Knicks and the Los Angeles Lakers. A few days ago, sources have been out-and-about stating that the Lakers are definitely in-consideration after their pitch last week. For those keeping track at home, the Lakers have verbally offered Melo a four-year $97 million deal, while the Knicks’ offer is five-years $129 million.
So, what will it be, ‘Melo? Are you coming back home to play for Phil and your city? Or are you jumping ship to the city of angels to be second fiddle to Kobe?
The answer isn’t clear, but the basketball world should hopefully find out where ‘Melo is going as early as tonight.
