I present to you J.R. Smith’s top three dunks this year. Three: Two: One:
It was sometime between “Honey Nut Cheerios” and an overzealous box out when my roommate turned to me and said, “I really forgot how much I HATE the Celtics”. When Pierce drilled that dagger of a jumper, as he so often does, obnoxiously kissing the Garden crowd with that disgusting smirk of his, my roommate… More
With the Knicks somewhat reeling (5-6 record in their past 11 games) and injuries hurting the team, rumors have surfaced that the team is interested in bringing free-agent power forward Kenyon Martin on board. Martin (career averages of 13 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.2 blocks) has not played this season after appearing in 42 games… More
The N.B.A. has suspended Carmelo Anthony one game for his confrontation with Kevin Garnett after Monday’s loss to the Boston Celtics. In the words of Stu Jackson, N.B.A. VP, Melo “attempted to engage with [Garnett] multiple times after Monday’s game and therefore a suspension was warranted. Sports, Martin is “open-minded about the possibility of accepting a 10-day contract,”… More
Breathe, breathe, breathe…. Okay. Excuse my blood pressure, still soaring to Everest-like peaks after that one. On a night when the Boston Celtics would be without their best player, Rajon Rondo – serving a one-game suspension for bumping a referee – all of the Knicks-Celtics rivalry talk seemed a little forced. After all, despite numerous… More
“I love this team”. When I utter this phrase today, as I often do, I am not referring to my general love for the New York Knicks (the franchise). Instead, I am referring to the particular collection of players who make up this current Knicks team. JR, Cope, Novakaine, Shump, Prigs, Raybaby, Big Tys, Melo,… More
You would think with the accomplishments Amare Stoudemire has accumulated over the course of his ongoing 11-year career that there would be a clearer, definitive idea of the type of player he has been.
During the first month of the basketball season, with the Knicks coasting the way they were, it was easy to think that everything was going to be okay. This team was built to beat the Heat. They had out-of-this-world three-point shooting. Their defense was incredible. And —finally! — they were winning.
