Even If Knicks Win Game Three, No Need to Bring Back Lin
The Knicks currently find themselves in the same position they were in last year after their first two playoff games: Down 0-2 with injuries to important players (Chauncey Billups and Amar’e Stoudemire last year, Iman Shumpert and Amare Stoudemire this year). After two agonizing, close losses to the Celtics, Knicks fans couldn’t help but wonder what could’ve been if the team had a full, healthy roster. We all remember the ending: the Celtics marched into MSG and won the next two games to complete the sweep.
Tyson Chandler, Your 2012 Defensive Player of the Year
With all the doom and gloom surrounding the Knicks, it’s about time something positive came out concerning our beloved New York team. Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports is reporting that Tyson Chandler has been named the 2012 Defensive Player of the Year and will be acknowledged tomorrow at the Knicks’ training facility.
Amare Stoudemire Receives Surgery; Out Indefinitely
Last night, after the Knicks’ 10-point loss to the Miami Heat, Amare Stoudemire punched the metal and glass encasing of a fire extinguisher on his way to the locker room. At the time, the severity of the injury was unknown. The only news to surface was that a large amount of blood stained the carpet in the locker room and JR Smith said that Stoudemire got stitches. As Stoudemire slipped through the security exit, cameras caught his left-hand wrapped up and in a sling.
Knicks Still Can’t Handle the Heat, Lose Game 2
Well, at least they didn’t lose by 30…
The Knicks showed more life than they did on Saturday, but it still wasn’t enough. The Miami Heat defeated the Knicks Monday night, 104-94, to take a 2-0 lead in their Eastern Conference First Round series. Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks with 30 points and nine rebounds. Dwayne Wade – who ran laps around Landry Fields – took over the leading role for the Heat, scoring 25 points while LeBron James just missed a triple double (19 points, nine assists, seven rebounds).

Game Two Referees
After Saturday’s game, and especially the second quarter which saw the Heat get just about every call, I thought I’d give you guys a quick update on tonight’s referees.
The referees for tonight’s matchup are Joe Crawford, Bennie Adams and Bill Spooner. Below are the stats for these three referees’ 2011-2012 season. Let’s hope for a fairly called game that the Knicks win!
Is Woodson Misusing Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire?
Saturday’s destruction was tough to watch. It stung for hours after, and truthfully, it still does. As a Knicks fan, coming off a loss, I’m always thinking of ways for the Knicks to improve and alter they’re chances of moving onto the next round. One strategy that has been talked about a lot, but Woodson has yet to implement is to play Carmelo Anthony at the four, Amare Stoudemire at the five, but not at the same time.
Knicks Embarrassed in Game 1 Loss to Heat

Already going into the game with news that defensive stalwart Tyson Chandler might not be at 100% due to the flu, the Knicks were completely massacred by the Miami Heat in Game 1 of their Easter Conference Round 1 series, 100-67. LeFlop James led the Heat with 32 points and four steals. New York was “led” by J.R. Smith’s 17 points off the bench.
Iman Shumpert Suffers Left Knee Injury
With just over six minutes left in the third-quarter, rookie Iman Shumpert collapsed to the ground, grabbing his left knee. Shumpert was dribbling the ball up the court and while trying to crossover to get by Mario Chalmers, Shumpert planted awkwardly with his left leg. Like most significant injurys, Shumpert’s came without any contact. He was visibly in pain, and needed Josh Harrellson and Jerome Jordan to carry him off the court, while supporting his knee.

Difference Maker: The Knicks’ Bench
Karma could be on the side of the Knicks, since the last time that they played the Heat in the first-round they went onto play the Spurs in the Finals. In addition, during that 1999 season, the NBA also had a lockout shortened campaign, that saw the team hurt by the injury to Patrick Ewing.
