Coming out of High School, Josh Selby was regarded as the best point guard in his class. After a 2010-2011 season, which involved eligibility issues, suspension, injury, and a Sweet 16 appearance at Kansas, Selby is struggling to simply be drafted in the first round.
Klay Thompson, son of former NBA player Mychal Thompson, is one of the best shooters in the 2011 draft, if not the best. The junior, out of Washington State University, stands at 6 foot 7 inches and mans the shooting guard position. Thompson’s stock has been steadily rising since the combine, where his measurements showed him capable of playing the 3 at the NBA level.
Donatas Motiejunas, a 7-foot, 215 pound, Lithuanian born shooting center/power forward is projected to be taken between the twelfth and the twenty-second pick. Many people thought that Donatas would enter the 2010 draft, but, instead, Motiejunas opted to return to Italy in order to work on his game. In his second season with Benetton Treviso, he played very well in the Italian Lega A, shooting 66% from two, and 46% from three.
