Knicks Will Match Lin’s Offer-Sheet… Here’s Why

Last night, Jeremy Lin and the Houston Rockets came to terms on a four-year deal worth $29.8 million. The deal will give Jeremy $5 million in the first year, $5.2 million in the second year, $9.2 million in the third year and the fourth year is a player option of $9.2 million. Somehow, Jeremy Lin will be signed for less guaranteed money than Landry Fields. After signing Jason Kidd to backup Lin, the Knicks were prepared to match any offer Lin received. As Marc Stein of ESPN said the Knicks “will match any offer on Lin up to 1 billion dollars.”

Will Jeremy Lin Be Ready For Game Five?

Yesterday, in a conference call, Mike Woodson said that he’s “not counting” on Jeremy Lin returning to the Knicks’ lineup in time for Wednesday’s game five. This comes on the heels of Melo shooting down a Lin return this year by saying “he’ll be ready to go next year”, without a mention of the remaining playoff games, after Sunday’s victory over the Heat.

Lin, Novak Lead the Knicks to a 104-97 Victory Over Dallas

In their toughest matchup of the Jeremy Lin era, the Knicks pulled out a gritty 104-97 victory over the defending champion Dallas Mavericks. In a back and forth game, the Knicks trailed Dallas by three going into the fourth quarter. New York finished off the third quarter on a 7-0 run and had the momentum going into the final twelve minutes of the game. In the fourth quarter, the Knicks’ outside shooting woes seemed to disappear. The 29th ranked three point shooting team in the NBA hit six shots from outside the arc to bury the Mavericks.
