Recap: Sixers 97, Knicks 80

This one was over before both team’s starters could even break a sweat.  The Philadelphia 76ers embarrassed the Knicks last night, routing them by a score of 97-80. Sixers first time All-Star Jrue Holiday led Philly with a career high 35 points while dishing out six assists and grabbing five rebounds.  Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks with 25 points but shot just 9-for-28 from the field.

Recap: Knicks 90, 76ers 98

The Knicks dropped their third consecutive game of the preseason, a 98-90 decision to the Philadelphia 76ers. The game was played at the Syracuse University Carrier Dome, making it a homecoming for Carmelo Anthony. Anthony didn’t disappoint his fans at his former stomping ground, scoring 23 points and filling up the stat sheet (six rebounds, five assists and four steals. Raymond Felton also had a strong game, scoring 23 points while shooting 5-for-7 from three-point land. However, it wasn’t enough for the Knicks, as they fell into an early hole they couldn’t recover from.

Three Man Weave: Magic, Sixers, Bucks and the East Playoffs

After last night’s exhibition against the Wizards, the Knicks record improved to 31-28. A Sixers (31-28) loss moved the Knicks back into seventh in the Eastern Conference and an Orlando (34-25) loss left the ‘Bockers three games behind for the sixth seed. They remain two games ahead of the Bucks, who defeated the Pistons last night. Let’s take a look at the three “other” teams the Knicks are fighting for a playoff spot.

Knicks Remain Perfect Under Woodson, Get Huge Win in Philly

Another game, another win for interim head coach Mike Woodson. This one was a 82-79 victory over the division rival 76ers in Philadelphia. Amar’e Stoudemire had one of his best games of the season, scoring 21 points and grabbing nine rebounds, while showing energy and tenacity that has been missing all year. Jeremy Lin scored 16 of his 18 points in the 4th quarter, while the Sixers were led by Elton Brand’s 12 point, 12 rebound, five block performance. The win gives the Knicks the season series over Philly 2-1, meaning the Knicks own the tiebreaker in case both teams end up with the same record at the end of the year.
