Pre-Game: Knicks vs. Celtics; Stoudemire, Smith Out

Tonight, the New York Knicks will face off against the Boston Celtics in game two of their pre-season schedule. The game will take place in Hartford, Connecticut- roughly two hours from New York, as well as two hours from Boston – but is considered a home game for the Celtics. This is the Celtics’ third pre-season game, but their first against NBA competition.
Is Woodson Misusing Carmelo Anthony and Amare Stoudemire?
Saturday’s destruction was tough to watch. It stung for hours after, and truthfully, it still does. As a Knicks fan, coming off a loss, I’m always thinking of ways for the Knicks to improve and alter they’re chances of moving onto the next round. One strategy that has been talked about a lot, but Woodson has yet to implement is to play Carmelo Anthony at the four, Amare Stoudemire at the five, but not at the same time.
Knicks Come Up Short Against The Bulls
Tonight, the Knicks kicked off their one and only back-to-back-to-back with an energy filled loss at home against the Bulls, by a score of 102-105.
Now, like many times this season, the Knicks played three quarters of good basketball, but were debilitated by one quarter. Tonight, that quarter was the second.
Time for the Knicks to Prove Themselves
The going could get pretty bad for the Knicks if they do not start playing at the elite-level everyone envisioned they would, before the season started.
The Knicks’ next 10 opponents provide far more competition than the first nine did. Of their first nine opponents, only two of their prior opponents were playoff squads last season: The Celtics, who were missing Paul Piece for the Christmas day matinee, and the Lakers who were missing Andrew Bynum.
The Future is Now.
It’s a done deal. Tyson Chandler will be joining the Knicks.
Per Howard Beck,
Knicks’ trades are complete. It’s a 3-team deal with Dallas and Washington. New York sends Turiaf, 2013 2nd-round pick and cash to Wizards.
Knicks Win! 107-88
Just an all around feel good victory for the Knicks tonight.
Toney Douglas stepped in for an injured Chauncey Billups and played great.
He shot 10 for 13 from the floor, including 4 for 6 from behind the line. He finished with 24 and 5 assists.
Knicks 83 – Kings 93
The Knicks did not show up. The team shot an abysmal 31% from the field. Amare, who had a strong all-around game rebounding and blocking shots, made only 6 of 22 attempts from the field. He still finished with 25 points.
