New York Knicks starting point guard Jalen Brunson has been named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the week of Jan. 9-15, 2023.
This is Brunson’s first time being named the Player of the Week. Domantas Sabonis of the Sacramento Kings was named POTW for the West.
Brunson has averaged 34.8 points per game, 5.8 rebounds per game, and 5 assists per game over the Knicks’ last four games, and they went 3-1 over that time. This includes his career-high performance of 38 points in a win over the San Antonio Spurs. They have been playing their best basketball of the season so far, topping several metrics across the league for the last six weeks including net rating, wins and defensive rating.
Julius Randle was also nominated for the award.
