On Monday afternoon, it was announced that the Knicks signed swingman Williams to two-year pact.

According to Shams Charania of Yahoo! Sports, the Knicks have inked Troy Williams to a two-year contract. The second year features partial guarantees, meaning that the Knicks will presumably have the option to move on from Williams if they so choose. He was originally signed to a 10-day deal on February 21st, and was then brought on for a second 10-day contract on March 3. Now, he’ll finish out this season in New York.

The Indiana product has impressed the Knicks’ executives and coaching staff alike due to his athleticism and defensive intensity. He’s been able to string together some impressive moments, including this stretch against the Blazers:

Williams has averaged 8.1 points and 2.9 rebounds in eight games as a Knick.
